EACH TERM WE WILL HAVE A PROJECT INTEGRATED INTO ENGLISH OR SOCIAL STUDIES THAT ALSO ENCOMPASSES SOME OF THE COMPETENCIES FOR ETHICS. MANY OF THESE PROJECTS WILL BE COMPLETED AT HOME.
TERM 1:
As part of our integrated Ethics Class, we will be looking at the question, "Can Kindness Change the World?" We'll be exploring how a single act can have a 'pay it forward' effect upon those we know and those we do not.
“Remember there's no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end.”
~ Scott Adams
As the culminating task, students will be required to complete 30 Acts of Kindness in 30 days. They must journal about some of their experiences describing the act of kindness, describing the reaction of the recipient and explaining their feelings on the event.
They will choose 5 of these acts and put them on a giving tree in the classroom as a visual of how much goodness they as a class have put out into the world.
These acts of Kindness will start on Monday November 5th. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments regarding this assignment.
